While we're not vegetarians, we don't cook a lot of meat over here at our house. Bridget and I have both given up meat at different points in our lives, so we know how to cook vegetarian and enjoy doing so. The meat that we do cook at home, however, has lately consisted mostly of locally caught fish and wild game. We've been lucky enough to score some venison from her Dad and from my father on occasion as well.

A couple of months ago, Bridget signed up for and completed a hunter's safety course. Yesterday she got her hunting license and went out with her father for her very first hunting trip. She came back with the wood duck pictured above. She never ceases to surprise and amaze me.
